Millions of photos expected on royal wedding day

LONDON (Reuters) - Some 327 million
royal wedding-related pictures will be
taken on digital cameras next week
when Britain's Prince William ties the
knot with girlfriend Kate Middleton,
according to a survey on Monday. The most coveted shot is the first
appearance of the couple as a married
couple followed by the expected kiss on
the balcony of Buckingham Palace after
the wedding ceremony, according to the
poll for camera maker Nikon. "The balcony kiss is the picture to get,"
said Arthur Edwards, the royal
photographer with Britain's mass-selling
Sun tabloid. "Half of the photographers missed the
iconic balcony kiss in 1981 at (Prince)
Charles and (Princess) Diana's wedding
because they were changing film." Edwards picked out four top locations for
budding photographers wanting to
capture the best pictures in central
London on the April 29th wedding day. As well as outside Buckingham Palace
and Westminster Abbey where the
service will be held, Edwards
recommended the far end of the Mall, the
grand boulevard leading to the palace,
and at Horse Guards Parade, an open area used for military ceremonies. Meanwhile the poll estimated that of the
millions of photos taken, some 65 million
will be shared on social media sites.
